Rehabilitation Engineer Senior

Description

Provides technical advice on the more complex cases to health care professionals and patients on equipment for the disabled and designs and manufactures rehabilitative equipment. Evaluates patients for postural support, communication, mobility, vocational, environmental control and other needs. Provides training to patients, family members, nurses and therapists on proper use of equipment. This Classification requires registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix. Labor market typical education and experience: Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
