Telephone Operator Senior

Description

Under general supervision, operates a telephone console or switchboard to route incoming calls to the appropriate party. Receives and relays messages. Operates a paging system. Requires in-depth knowledge of organization. Acts as resource to other telephone operators and callers. Reports console malfunctions and maintains repair records. Trains new operators. Responsible for scheduling switchboard coverage. Typically requires a high school education or equivalent and three or more years of experience. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
