Description

Performs a variety of engineering assignments in work measurement for the establishment of standards. Plans and has oversight for utilization of production facilities and personnel in departments or other subdivisions of an industrial establishment. Plans equipment layout, workflow, and accident prevention measures to maintain efficient and safe utilization of plant facilities. Plans and has oversight for work study and training programs to promote efficient personnel utilization. Works closely with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of robotics to increase production quality, efficiency, or volume. More than 10 years increasingly responsible professional experience. Possesses and applies an advanced knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of projects of major complexity. Plans, conducts and directs engineering and/or development work on complex projects necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches. Plans and directs projects and supplies technical inspiration, leadership and consultation to professional co-workers. May represent the organization in outside discussions and technical forums. Labor market typical education and experience: Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
