Description
Plan and teach intermediate and advanced level pre-college students individually and in groups. Prepare both group and private students for participation in departmental recitals, master classes, festivals and competitions. Monitor students' progress in order to make suggestions for improvement. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress. Responsible for administration of program including budget preparation, collection of tuition fees and payroll for teaching staff. Supervises faculty member in the program and provides performance feedback. Requires a master's degree in education and previous piano teaching experience. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently and directly related to academic instruction or training. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
