Group Underwriter Associate

Description

Underwrites new policies, annual renewals, and amendments of group insurance contracts. Analyzes data including financial condition of company, characteristics of employee groups, and past claims experience to determine benefits and rates. Has contact with field offices to obtain information on which to base and defend underwriting decisions. 0 - 2 years of professional experience. Entry level for degreed individuals, or equivalent combination. Knows fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization. Using established procedures and working under immediate supervision, performs assigned tasks. Work is routine and instructions are usually detailed. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
