Group Underwriter Intermediate

Description

Underwrites new policies, annual renewals, and amendments of group insurance contracts. Analyzes data including financial condition of company, characteristics of employee groups, and past claims experience to determine benefits and rates. Has contact with field offices to obtain information on which to base and defend underwriting decisions. 2-5 years professional experience. Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization. Under supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
