Patient Representative

Description

Serves as liaison between the employer, patients, and patients' relatives. Communicates patients' problems, questions, complaints and concerns to appropriate staff members. Explains procedures and policies to patients and refers them to the proper services required. Establishes rapport with staff and assists in the preparation of reports regarding any incidents that could result in legal action if not resolved. Educates staff on humanizing patients' treatment and/or confinement. Participates, as required, in the employer's public affairs programs. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
