Description

Evaluates behavioral and academic functioning of the patient through gathering background information, observation, and standardized testing with the collaboration of the multidisciplinary team. Determines eligibility for special education programs and services. Provides feedback to multidisciplinary team on behaviors observed in the classroom. Plans discharge by providing parents and receiving school personnel with the necessary information regarding the impact of the patient's medical condition on learning and social skill functioning and providing recommendations to ensure appropriate placement. Facilitates relationship between patient's parents and the school. This Classification requires registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix. Labor market typical education and experience: Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
