Ultrasonographer and Radiographer

Description

Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques, to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data. Schedules and coordinates tests and prepares and maintains operational logs. Records test results and updates patient records for referring physicians. Maintains and calibrates equipment, and orders necessary supplies. Operates and maintains x-ray equipment and takes x-rays of various portions of the body to assist radiologist in diagnosis of disease and injuries. Prepares patients for x-ray by administering drugs or chemical mixtures orally or intravenously. Employees are ARRT certified, have completed ultrasound training, and are board eligible. This classification requires registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
