Electrocardiograph Technician

Description

Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) machines to record electromotive variations of patients' heart muscle in order to provide data used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart ailments. In doing so, arranges equipment, gathers pertinent patient data, explains test procedures to patients, and operates equipment. Marks tracings and edits, mounts, and labels tracings for review and interpretation by physicians. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
