Exercise Physiologist

Description

Participates as a member of non-invasive cardiology. Under the supervision of the manager, assists in and performs a variety of routine cardiology procedures and other duties necessary for the satisfactory completion of patient care and success of the program. (Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science or related field, 6 months Cardiology experience, 1 year experience in both stress testing and cardiac rehabilitation preferred, and health education and wellness program experience preferred. BCLS/ACLS or within 1 year of employment. ACSM Exercise Specialist certification is required.) This Classification requires registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix. Labor market typical education and experience. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
