Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA

Description

Provides treatment under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, following focused treatment plans based on goals. Monitors patient's response to treatment and modifies treatment and/or reports patient's response to the OT as appropriate. Instructs patients in occupational therapy activities and in the use of equipment. Requires an Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and certification with the State of practic and NBCOT. This Classification requires registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
