Regulatory Attorney Intermediate

Description

Responsible for handling a variety of moderately complex assigned legal projects. Conducts legal research and drafts documents related to federal and state laws and legislative groups including the FCC regulations that affect the operations of the company. May assist with preparation of reports and presentations for regulatory and legislative commissions. Typically requires 4 to 8 years of experience and a law degree. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a J.D. degree as well as admission or eligibility for admission to the State Bar of Michigan. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position meet the criteria for exempt status.
