Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs

Description

Assist the Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs with internal and external development of the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center (CVC). Provides advice on the business model and participates in the development of the patient care model. Serves as a development officer for the philanthropy efforts associated with the CVC. Coordinates solicitation activities with chairs, directors, and University officers for the effective implementation of major gifts programs. Education and Experience: Doctoral degree is necessary, MD Preferred. Membership in professional societies related to cardiovascular medicine and considerable knowledge in cardiovascular programs. Experience in targeted fund-raising, and community outreach. Administrative experience in higher education is desirable. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
