Interior Designer Intermediate

Description

Prepares standard interior design plans and solutions and coordinates moderate to large interior design projects. Interviews clients to determine interior design preferences, needs, and budget guidelines. Prepares standard cost estimates for furnishing, materials, labor and professional fees. Prepares standard requisitions, work orders, furniture plans, floor plans, design drawings, and bid documentation. Coordinates deliveries and installation of interior design furnishings, fixtures and materials. Confers with outside vendors regarding furnishings, fixtures and materials. Communicates and reports project status to Functional Area Manager on a regular basis. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design and at least 3 years of experience in Institutional interior design. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters pertaining to the particular projects they are assigned within the scope of their responsibilities free from immediate supervision. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
