Electroencephalograph Technologist Registered

Description

Operates electroencephalograph (EEG) machine in order to measure brain wave characteristics for use by physicians in diagnosing brain disorders. Reviews patients' medical charts and explains procedures to patients and/or families. Records specialized electroneurodiagnostic tests in the operating rooms or laboratories . May perform other complex neurology exams (e.g., electro-cerebral-silence, evoked responses, neonatal , ictal spect, mapping, extended EEG and video monitoring and compressed spectral analysis). Assists in the education and training of technical staff. Participates in research in the field of neuroscience. Registration by the American Board of Registration for Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists in EEG is required and is part of the Primary Source Verification process. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
