Description
Under close supervision performs conservation care and treatments on library and museum materials held in library rare and special collections or museums. Evaluates and performs basic analytical tests on materials and, in consultation with an advanced conservator, develops appropriate treatments. Documents treatments in writing and by photography. Constructs custom-made protective enclosures. Under the direction of, or in consultation with, a designated supervisor, assists in the evaluation of the condition of collections, collection storage, handling, and exhibition, and in the implementation of related activities. Requires Bachelors degree and one year of specialized training in conservation or equivalent relevant experience. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
