Athletic Trainer Clinical Specialist

Description

To recognize, evaluate, screen and treat orthopedic and sport disabilities and injuries; to provide emergency medical care, and to develop or restore function through therapeutic treatments as prescribed or directed by a physician. To train and educate Athletic Trainers in techniques related to the area of clinical specialty. This position requires certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association. This Classification requires registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix. Labor market typical education and experience: Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
