Nurse Practitioner Educational Coordinator

Facilitates the development of relationships between Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) within UMHS and the School of Nursing. Provide leadership and direction of ANP practices and act as an administrative liaison to all clinical departments and programs regarding privileging, peer review, and compliance matters. Plan, develop and implement advanced practice nurse educational programs for orientation, in-service education and staff development; assess educational needs of ANPs; and to advise management on educational goals and objectives. Collaborates with the Office of Clinical Affairs to assure NP compliance with State and Federal credentialing and scope of practice regulations. A Doctorate degree in Nursing and current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with at least 10 years of experience is required. This Classification requires registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
