Description
Responsible for managing the operational and administrative activities of the office of the Chief of Nursing Services under the general direction of the Senior Associate Director of Patient Care Services and the Chief of Nursing Services. Manages programs and/or projects to enhance department/service operations and that promote the attainment of department/service goals. Represents the Chief of Nursing Services on committees, special task forces and project teams as designated. Assists in the development and implementation of short and long-term strategies, policies, procedures, practices and programs. Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare or Business with 10 or more years of progressive administrative experience in a similar position. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
