Ophthalmic Electrophysiology Specialist

Description

Provide technical expertise related to patient diagnostic tests for the Visual Electrophysiology Service of the Retinal Dystrophy Center. Assists in documenting, interpreting, analyzing, publishing, and presenting Visual Electrophysiological testing results from clinical and laboratory research settings. Perform tests used to record electrical responses from the retina for use by physicians in diagnosing retinal and optic nerve pathway disorders. Routinely perform static and kinetic perimetry and microperimetry to measure visual fields. Collaborate with clinicians outside the University on cutting edge technology and research. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
