Risk Management Consultant Healthcare

Description

Investigates and analyzes potential medical professional liability claims and incidents. Advises and trains medical staff in assessing, resolving and preventing incidents of risk to patients. Develops policies and procedures for reducing claims. Reports significant incidents of patient injury or risk to Health System administration. Supervises outside counsel on matters of litigation and negotiates settlements within institutional guidelines. Labor market typical education and experience: Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
