In compliance with federal and state legislation and management's directives, conducts investigations into allegations of discrimination and harassment brought forward by faculty, staff, students, members of the public, and others in compliance with legislation and management's directives. Conducts internal investigations of practices to identify possible violations, and compiles and submits required statistical reports. 5 - 8 years of professional experience. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters. Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
