Description
Conducts tests and inspects working areas, machinery, equipment and working conditions for compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. Ensures the availability, readiness and proper use of required accident prevention procedures, safety and fire prevention equipment, protective clothing and devices, and first aid supplies. Recommends and follows up to verify the implementation of corrective actions. Maintains records on safety inspections, and inventory of safety and fire equipment and devices. 0-3 years of experience in area of specialization. Applies basic and develops advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization. Duties and tasks are standardized. Performs some more advanced functions as part of training and development. Resolves routine questions and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher levels. Works under direct supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
