Labor Relations Representative Lead

Description

Prepares for, conducts, or advises on contract negotiations. Draws up or assists in drawing up labor agreements. Advises on the administration of labor agreements and on the handling of grievances. Prepares briefs for arbitration cases and conducts presentation at hearings. Advises on the application of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Labor Management Relations Act and other federal and state legislation. Represents the organization in dealings with government agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board and the Wage-Hour Division of the Bureau of Labor. Engages in other personnel activities such as compensation and benefits, recruitment, and training. More than 8 years of professional experience. Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of complex assignments. Interprets and applies organization policy. Recommend changes in procedures. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
