Admission Triage Coordinator

Description

Conducts clinical and financial pre-admission screening of all unscheduled patients utilizing appropriate clinical standards and financial guidelines. Serves as key coordinator for patient placement that maximizes throughput and reimbursement potential. Projects occupancy by continuously reviewing scheduled admissions and procedures, Emergency Department activity, and transfer requests. Manages patient queues through continuous assessment of patient acuity and capacity. Labor market typical education and experience: Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related allied health discipline (such as respiratory therapy, social work, occupational or physical therapy) or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. Minimum three years consulting experience in disability management, case management and/or occupational health is necessary. UM minimum education and experience: Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
