Sponsored Projects Officer Intermediate

Description

Reviews, analyzes, and negotiates standard sponsored grants on behalf of the University and investigators. Interprets regulations and guidelines of program funding for all grants and contracts including moderately complex grants and contracts, and reviews renewals and periodic reports for grant agencies. Partners with sponsors, clients, and departments on pre/post award sponsored research activities required for the submission, acceptance, management and closing of certain sponsored activities. Assists with applications and may assist with locating sources of outside funding. Participates in award initiation and contract closeouts. Ensures compliance with sponsor terms, University policies/procedures and federal regulations and has signing authority. Bachelor degree with at least two years of experience in pre-award related sponsors. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision-making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
