Sponsored Projects Officer Senior

Description

Independently manages all aspects of sponsored research grants from the pre-award process beginning with the inception of the budget through the post award process including study closeout. Reviews, analyzes, and negotiates non-standard sponsored grants on behalf of the University and investigators. Interprets regulations and guidelines of program funding for all grants and contracts including complex grants and contracts, and reviews renewals and periodic reports for grant agencies. Partners with sponsors, clients, and departments on pre/post award sponsored research activities required for the submission, acceptance, management and closing of certain sponsored activities. Ensures compliance with sponsor terms, University policies/procedures and federal regulations and has signing authority. Bachelor degree with at least four years of related experience. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision-making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
