Construction Project Engineer Lead

Description

Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of major capital construction projects of a highly complex nature. Responsible for managing the project construction process, assuring completion within established schedule and budgetary limits, and in accordance with design specifications and regulatory codes. Must be familiar with design, engineering, scope, and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member to effectively coordinate the activities of the design and construction project teams. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. Minimum of 6 years experience, dependent upon education and previous responsibilities. Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of complex assignments. May cross fields. Recommends changes in procedures. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited engineering program or an NAAB accredited first professional degree in Architecture. Registration as a professional Engineer or Architect is desirable. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
