Administrative Fellow Healthcare

Description

Serves as an administrative fellow and senior staff member under the direction of the Director and CEO of UMHHC and, during the appropriate year of the term, the Office of the Dean of UMMS. Completes special projects and assignments across several areas (e.g. Accreditation readiness, budget development, clinical program analysis, process improvement, quality improvement initiatives, staffing select meetings) as developed by fellow and fellowship coordinator. Pursues project work independently with guidance of fellowship coordinator. Interacts with senior level administrators and clinical leaders daily. The position complements and enriches the graduate education experience through attending and participating in high level strategic meetings and completing projects across the Health System. The two year appointment provides a foundation to allow the fellow to pursue professional management and leadership roles upon its completion. Education and Experience: Graduate Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business, Law, Public Policy or appropriate advanced degree. Must possess outstanding skills in written and verbal communication, data analysis & interpretation, and project management. Prior administrative experience is desirable. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
