Description
Advises students in designing global learning experiences, which may be domestic or international. Promotes intercultural student learning and development through the design and delivery of orientation programs, on-line modules and written educational resources. Portfolio may include programs that yield academic credit and/or co-curricular projects that support the broader educational goals of the sponsoring unit. Student advising may be on an individual or group basis. Assists students in complying with registration and academic credit transfer requirements. May supervise support staff positions. Requires a bachelor degree and 2-3 years related professional experience. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently and directly related to academic instruction or training. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
