Assistant Catering Manager

Description

Assists in managing all aspects of the catering operation. Assists in completing weekly catering schedule ensuring adequate staff coverage to meet special event needs as well as monitoring labor costs. Communicates daily with all the stakeholders to obtain necessary event information to both accurately adjust existing catering schedules and forecast upcoming schedules. Ensures proper setup of events per the customer's request while maintaining an effective, efficient, and economical operation. Communicates all steps of service, guidelines and facts to employees during pre-shift meetings and training. Collaborates with the Chef de Cuisine in development of decorative schemes for food and beverage presentations. Ensures proper handling of food items to maintain sanitation standards. Assists Catering Manager in personnel matters including hiring, training, performance reviews, promotions and disciplinary actions up to termination. Assists in the management of schedules and trains catering staff to ensure that excellent service is provided to our guests and food and beverage is presented in an appetizing manner. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are non-exempt.
