Description

Builds, deploys, implements and/or modifies machine AI applications, including digital agents (e.g., chatbots), pattern recognition applications, (e.g., image, text, speech recognition) and automation scripts and utilities. Typically uses a combination of dataflow programming or pre-trained algorithms from an existing AI framework (e.g., TensorFlow, Caffe, MXNet, Cognitive Toolkit, Torch) but may also develop own scripts and algorithms in C++, Go, Java, Python, or equivalent languages. May be responsible for creating automated reporting systems. Applies knowledge, theories, principles, and concepts acquired through education or certification and/or a few years of work-related experience, on-the-job training or vocational training. Expands knowledge and broadens skills within own function. Completes work with a limited degree of supervision; prioritizes, organizes, and makes decisions related to own work to meet objectives. Takes initiative to analyze possible solutions. Provides solutions to moderately complex or infrequently occurring problems. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision-making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Employees are not involved in the operation, repair, or maintenance of computer hardware, networks, or equipment. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
