Clinical Information Analyst Staff Specialist

Description

Gathers, analyzes and interprets data to identify opportunities to improve the cost and quality of care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Facilitates medical and disease management, assessment of physician practice patterns and case management. Prepares reports and conducts analyses of cost and quality of care performance, based on measures of process and outcomes of care. Works with physicians, nurses and other clinicians to develop strategies to improve performance. Is creative and proactive. Assignments necessitate advanced knowledge. Manages / coordinates work of unit staff. Provides expertise and guidance to unit staff about analytical methods. Labor market typical education and experience: Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
