Interprets and reviews medical records in order to identify relevant diagnostic and procedural information. Assigns diagnostic and procedural codes in accordance with the approved coding schemes and established coding guidelines for appropriate documentation and coding of services to achieve accurate billing. Certification is not required. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
