Cancer Registrar

Description

Interprets and reviews all cancer pathology and other ancillary reports, hospital inpatient and clinic visit documentation, and tumor board notes. Determines class of case, identifies correct histology, site, stage and extent of disease and treatments. Corresponds with other registries and agencies on patient follow-up. Respond to requests for research studies from physicians, administrators and other hospital staff. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
