Description

Develops, encodes, tests, debugs, documents and installs programs to support client/server software systems. Prepares program specifications and diagrams and develops coding logic flowcharts. Develops programs to support UNIX minicomputers or mainframes and minicomputer servers as well as applications that run on both systems and exchange data between systems with the inclusion of a relational database. More than 8 years professional experience. Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. Has well-developed leadership qualities. Plans, conducts and supervises assignments, generally involving the larger and more important projects or more than one project. Reviews progress and evaluates results. Schedules and may supervise project work. Evaluates progress and results and recommends major changes in procedures. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Employees are not involved in the operation, repair, or maintenance of computer hardware, networks, or equipment. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
