Storage Engineer Lead

Description

Provides systems development, storage/server/backup technology build and integration and often provides strategic direction, guidance and integration of products and services. Provides systems development, storage/ server/backup technology build and integration, implementation engineering, technology scaling, migration planning, project planning, and technical documentation. Performs investigation of new and alternative storage technologies. Evaluates potential and existing solutions and performs extensive testing. Provides technical consulting and acts as an expert and assists users in defining needs and identifying appropriate solutions. Takes on role of Project Leader for special enterprise wide assignments. Coaches or mentors junior technical staff. Responsible for work that is highly complex and varied in nature. Requires highest level understanding of organization's business and industry requirements. Recognized expert internally and externally for systems development and storage/server/backup technology. Defines and discerns key aspects of a problem and develops an integrated solution within a broad business context of significant impact. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Employees are not involved in the operation, repair, or maintenance of computer hardware, networks, or equipment. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
