Database Analyst Intermediate

Description

Evaluates and designs existing or proposed systems to structure and access databases. Analyzes database requirements of the user department, applications programming and operations. Submits recommendations for solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and require data security and data backup/recovery specifications. Proposes detailed specifications and flowcharts and coordinates installation of revised or new systems. 1-3 years professional experience. Knows and uses well the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization. Under supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Employees are not involved in the operation, repair, or maintenance of computer hardware, networks, or equipment. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
