Description

Under general supervision, has oversight for all aspects of the technology purchasing function. Plans and coordinates information technology related equipment installations, moves, additions, and changes. Manages purchasing processes such as placing orders, tracking orders, and reconciling invoices. Plans, organizes, and coordinates all technology purchasing efforts. Collects requests for purchase of equipment. Ensures proper approval has been obtained for equipment purchases. Obtains and evaluates quotes from vendors. Expedites orders, issues purchasing orders to vendors, checks incoming shipments/paperwork, and inputs information into tracking databases. Verifies statements from vendors are correct and ensures that all statements are processed for payment. Enters serial numbers into asset database. Maintains database for all leased equipment. Meets with vendors on regular basis to obtain information on updated equipment and prices. Researches updated equipment and pricing for individual managers as needed. Tracks asset costs. Tracks return of computer equipment from the field. Establishes and maintains system for moving assets as they are distributed. Typically requires one year of contract experience. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
