Information Resources Specialist Lead

Description

Under general direction, provides highly specialized information resources services to faculty, students and staff or performs highly specialized cataloging, reference or other technical functions applied to multiple and complex information resources. Provides in-depth reference services and/or serves as the designated liaison to an academic department. Performs specialized collection development and manages collection fund budgets. May perform original cataloging of complex materials, complete original cataloging in a variety of formats, and resolve highly complex cataloging problems. Functional supervision of temporary, term, and/or permanent employees. Requires 7 years library experience and Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a very substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
