Description
Under general direction, provides specialized information resources services to faculty, students and staff or performs specialized cataloging, reference or other technical functions applied to multiple and complex information resources. Provides in-depth reference services and/or serves as the designated liaison to an academic department. May perform specialized collection development and manage collection fund budgets. May perform some original cataloging of complex materials, complete original cataloging in a variety of formats, and resolve complex cataloging problems. Requires 3 years library experience and Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a moderate degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
