Description
Responsible for protecting an organization's assets by performing complex compliance audits and inspections to ensure that the organization's operations are in compliance with laws, corporate guidelines, best practices, and contractual agreements. The auditor may work alone or as part of a team to examine records and inspect practices, document the state of affairs, note potential problems, and make recommendations to management regarding methods to improve compliance. The auditor then conducts follow-up inspections to ensure that suggested changes (that have been approved by management) are implemented and executed properly. Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and about seven years of experience. Frequently reports to the Compliance Manager. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
