Development Generalist

Description

Responsible for two or more of the following areas within development for a school/college, institute, library or business unit: events management, stewardship, outreach, research, gifts-in-kind, financial reporting. Write, design and produce solicitations for fund drives. Coordinate annual fund partnerships. Develop and maintain lists for organizing solicitations. Prepare proposals and negotiate with vendors. Plan and organize fund raising events. Lead and/or facilitate individual donor visits. Position operates independently in assigned areas and is responsible for prospect identification and solicitation, proposal development, mobilization of outside support, and coordination of internal support activities. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
