Public Information Specialist

Description

Writes brochures and articles for publication. Prepares and disseminates information to the internal college and university community as well as to local and state media. Promotes and publicizes institutional activities and programs. Requires a bachelor degree or equivalent plus 2-3 years experience. Excludes sports information positions. Employees in this classification typically perform work requiring invention, imagination, originality, or talent in a recognized field of artistic or creative endeavor. Primary activities involve a high degree of creativity with broad leeway to develop an original work product. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
