Freedom of Information and Policy Coordinator

Description

Ensures effective, timely and thorough compliance with requests received under the Freedom of Information Act, conducting all necessary research, investigation and record retrieval. Analyzes, compares and evaluates various courses of action and has signature authority to represent on behalf of the University that responses are complete and accurate. Understands and conveys matters of statutory compliance with precise attention to detail; maintains extensive relationships with administrators and effectively analyzes data and communicates results within very short time frames; maintains database and produces reports of results to executives. Resolves problems that have a significant impact on the statutory compliance of the University. Provides communications outreach about FOIA compliance to University units. Works with University units to assess policy strategies related to FOIA compliance. Assists in research and analysis on communications policy matters. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
