Description
Organizes project teams, assigns responsibilities, develops project schedules and budget estimates, and determines resources needed for University-wide special events, including annual ceremonial and development events, as well as one-time public and private events. Provides strategic and programmatic consultation to department staff, as well as to University colleagues. Ensures completion of detailed schedules for events from implementation to delivery and keeps management informed of any deviations. Monitors status of events including cost, timing and staffing. Typically requires a Bachelors degree and at least three to five years related experience. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare, and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
