Description

Under the general supervision of the Director/Associate Director, aids in decisions and implementation of the following roles and functions for a school/college, library, institute or business unit(s): Overall operation of one or more subunits of an organization including the planning, development and implementation of short and long-range objectives. Aiding in financial responsibilities, including implementation of annual budgets and external funds. Assisting in the development and implementation of organizational and administrative policies and initiatives. Having input in the review and evaluation of organizational and program activities and outcomes. Preparing papers and reports. May be responsible for day-to-day operations of the unit. May represent the organization to internal and external audiences in the absence of the Director/Associate Director. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
