All Intermediate skills, with increased breadth and depth of expertise in multiple domains characteristic of the bioinformatics field. Perform all Intermediate tasks plus analyzing and interpreting bioinformatics / clinical / physiological data across multiple data types and sources, across a broad range of analysis approaches and biological / clinical research questions. Senior level is characterized by increased ownership of the research question, methods, and deliverables. Educate and cross-train analysts in external collaborating groups and establish and maintain functional relationships across departments, divisions, and outside organizations. May provide functional supervision to Associate and Intermediate analysts. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
