Data Science Analyst Lead

Description

Extracts knowledge and insights from data to investigate complex information through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques, including predictive analysis, statistical analysis, business intelligence, pattern recognition, operational effectiveness and/or economic forecasting. Defines data requirements, data collection, management, processing, cleaning, analysis, modeling, and visualization. Develops methods for data collection, analysis, and reporting. Examines and identifies data patterns and trends to help answer business questions and improve decision making. Provides inputs for complex data science and big data mining projects. Identifies areas to increase efficiency and automation of data analysis processes. Collects, analyzes, and reports management data to support decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning and specific business performance issues and improvements. Applies best practices and in-depth knowledge and experience to manage projects and processes and activities. Coaches, trains, and reviews the work of less experienced employees. Utilizes conceptual and practical experience for more than one activity, process, or function. Works independently to prioritize, organize, and make decisions related to own work and the team to meet objectives. Uses critical thinking and analytic skills to recommend and solve difficult or complex problems. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision-making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Employees are not involved in the operation, repair, or maintenance of computer hardware, networks, or equipment. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
